1.Air Marshal Rakesh Kumar Singh Bhadauria will take over as the Vice Chief of Indian Air Force (IAF) on May 1. Bhadauria will be succeeding Air Marshal Anil Khosla who is superannuating on April 30.Indian Air Force Day is celebrated on 8 October every year.

2.PhonePe launched a special keyboard that will allow users to transact conveniently and securely with just a click, anytime and anywhere while using their Android phone. It is the only player in India to introduce this user-friendly feature.PhonePe is owned by Flipkart.

5.The banking ombudsman received 24.9% more customer complaints in FY18 over the previous year as per a report by the Reserve Bank of India. The 21 offices of the banking ombudsman received 1,63,590 complaints in the year 2017-18.The banking ombudsman scheme (BO Scheme) was introduced in 1995.

6.Asian Games gold medallist Vinesh Phogat clinched a bronze medal in the 53kg category, while Rio Olympic medallist Sakshi Malik also won a bronze medal in the 62kg category at the Asian Wrestling Championships in Xi’an, China.Asian Wrestling Championships for women was started in 1996.

7.The finance ministry has ratified the hike of the Employees Provident Fund (EPF) interest rate to 8.65% as approved by retirement fund manager EPFO. This was a 10 basis point increase from the 8.55% EPF interest rate announced by the for 2017-18.The EPFO has an active subscriber base of 60 million.

8.Arunachalam Muruganantham, who became famous for producing low-cost sanitary napkins, has been featured on Fortune magazine's list of world’s 100 greatest leaders. He ranks 45th in the list while Bill & Melinda Gates topped the chart.Oscar-winning documentary “Period” was based on his life.

10.Reserve Bank of India (RBI) extended the coverage of ombudsman scheme to non-deposit taking non-banking financial companies (NBFCs) having an asset size of ₹100 crore or higher. The Ombudsman scheme was earlier operationalized for deposit-accepting NBFCs.NBFC-IFC, CIC, IDF-NBFC are excluded from this scheme.

1.India's 16-year-old Saurabh Chaudhary and 17-year-old Manu Bhaker won gold in the 10m Air Pistol mixed team event at the ISSF World Cup in Beijing. Bhaker and Chaudhary outshot Jiang Ranxin and Pang Wei of China 16-6 in the final.ISSF-International Shooting Sport Federation HQ- Munich, Germany.

2.Indian Army began recruiting women jawans by releasing an advertisement calling for women to join as Soldier General Duty (Women Military Police). 5.Japanese car giant Toyota and investment fund SoftBank Vision Fund unveiled an investment of $1 billion in U.S. company Uber to drive forward the development of driverless ridesharing services. 6.Indian Navy launched its third guided missile destroyer at Mazgaon Docks as part of its Project 15B, which is aimed at adding state-of-the-art warships to the naval fleet. 1.Airtel Payments Bank today launched a new two-wheeler insurance product in partnership with Bharti AXA General Insurance. This two-wheeler insurance product offers 70 per cent savings on annual premium.Airtel Payments Bank is the first payment bank of India.

2.Indian Navy Ships Kolkata & Shakti are scheduled to arrive Qingdao, China on 21 Apr 19 to participate in the International Fleet Review (IFR) as part of 70TH Anniversary celebrations of PLA (Navy). IFR is a parade of naval ships, aircraft and submarines.The 2nd IFR was conducted by India at Visakhapatnam in Feb 2016.

3.Delhi Metro trains will now run on solar power as the DMRC received 27 MW power from the Madhya Pradesh-based Rewa Solar Power Project. On average, about 345 million units (MU) of power will be received from Rewa in a calendar year.Rewa Ultra Mega Solar is solar power plant in Rewa district, MP.

4.NASA astronaut Christina Koch is going to have her mission on the International Space Station (ISS) extended to 328 days, which would set a record for the longest single spaceflight by a woman. 1.Saudi Arabia will host the 15th annual G20 Leaders' Summit in 2020 on November 21-22, in its capital Riyadh. This will be the first G20 Summit to be hosted in the Arab world. G20 is an international forum containing 19 countries and the European Union.India will host G20 Summit in 2022.

1.In Forbes magazines' 'World's Best Bank' survey, HDFC Bank emerged as India’s No 1 bank. The survey was done in partnership with market research firm Statista. Customers were asked to rate banks on overall recommendation and satisfaction.Aditya Puri is the Managing Director of HDFC Bank.

2.UAE has announced that India will be the Guest of Honour country at the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair (ADIBF 2019) to be held from 24 to 30 April. The book fair will celebrate India’s arts, heritage and knowledge-based traditions.Navdeep Suri is the Indian Ambassador to UAE.

3.Virat Kohli has been named as the Men’s Leading Cricketer in the World. He has also been named as one of Wisden’s Five Cricketers of the Year. He is joined by England’s Rory Burns, Jos Buttler, Sam Curran and Tammy Beaumont in receiving the honour.Wisden’s Leading Twenty20 Cricketer- Rashid Khan (Afghanistan).

4.Justice Vikram Nath, seniormost judge of the Allahabad High Court, has been appointed Chief Justice of the Andhra Pradesh High Court. He succeeds acting Chief Justice Praveen Kumar.A.P. High Court came into existence from 1 Jan 2019.

5.India's population rose at an average annual rate of 1.2% between 2010 and 2019 to 1.36 billion, according to the State of World Population 2019 report by the United Nations Population Fund (UNPFA). China's population stood at 1.42 billion in 2019.Dr Natalia Kanem is the Executive Director of UNFPA.

7.Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) has bagged the prestigious AIMA Managing India Award 2019 for outstanding PSU of the year. The award was presented by former President Pranab Mukherjee to Sanjiv Singh, Chairman, Indian Oil.IOC is the largest commercial oil company in India.

8.HDFC Asset Management Co. Ltd was ranked first in terms of assets with an average AUM of ₹3.42 trillion, overtaking ICICI Prudential Asset Management Co. Ltd according to data released by the Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI).SBI Mutual Fund recorded the second fastest growth rate at 30%.

9.India's largest software services firm TCS collaborated with tech giant Google to build industry-specific cloud solutions. TCS is a primary partner of Google Anthos which is a platform that simplifies building, running & managing services in the cloud.Natarajan Chandrasekaran is the Chairman of Tata Sons.
