ONE LINER OF THE DAY 26th APRIL 2019


1.India's 16-year-old Saurabh Chaudhary and 17-year-old Manu Bhaker won gold in the 10m Air Pistol mixed team event at the ISSF World Cup in Beijing. Bhaker and Chaudhary outshot Jiang Ranxin and Pang Wei of China 16-6 in the final.ISSF-International Shooting Sport Federation HQ- Munich, Germany.

2.Indian Army began recruiting women jawans by releasing an advertisement calling for women to join as Soldier General Duty (Women Military Police). This comes after the Defence Ministry in January announced the decision to induct women as jawans in the Army.Punita Arora was the 1st female Vice Admiral of the Indian Navy.

3.The Indian Institute of Management-Bangalore’s (IIM-B) post-graduate programme in Enterprise Management (PGPEM) has secured the 12th rank in APAC listing and came 61st globally in the QS Executive MBA Rankings 2019.IIM-B secured the 1st place under Mgmt cat in NIRF Rankings 2019.

4.The government has increased the authorised capital of Allahabad Bank by ₹5,000 crore to ₹8,000 crore. The increase in authorised capital will help enable the bank to raise further fund up to a maximum ceiling of ₹8,000 crore.Allahabad Bank HQ- Kolkata MD & CEO- SS Mallikarjuna Rao.

5.All India Radio, Publication Division and Children's Film Society of India were given Swacchta Pakhwada Awards-2019 in New Delhi. Secretary in the Information and Broadcasting Ministry Amit Khare gave away the awards.Swacchta Pakhwada was started in April 2016.

6.Russia successfully tests the world's first floating nuclear power plant Akademik Lomonosov also known as “Chernobyl on ice”. It is ready to begin electricity supply in Russia. China is also constructing a floating nuclear power plant.Russia is the world’s largest country in terms of area.

7.The Reserve Bank of India is the first central bank in the Asia-Pacific region to begin an explicit interest rate easing cycle buoyed by benign food inflation and easier global financial condition as per the rating agency Fitch.Fitch has a ‘BBB-’, the lowest investment grade rating on India.

8.The Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, Dr. Mamahudu Bawumia, launched the first-ever medical drone delivery service in Ghana, and the largest such drone delivery network in the world.Ghana Capital- Accra Currency- Cedi

9.BuyUcoin which is the second oldest cryptocurrency exchange in India introduces the first Indian platform for wholesale cryptocurrency trading also known as OTC desk and will be operated as a zero-fee based model.Oldest cryptocurrency exchange in India was Zebpay.

10.SEBI reduced the min. subscription requirement as well as defined trading lots for REITs & InvITs. REITs have to offer their units in lots worth at least Rs 50K in initial & follow on public offer.The min. value of a single lot will be Rs 1 lakh in InvITs.SEBI stands for Securities and Exchange Board of India.
