1.According to data released by StartupBlink, India moved up to the 17th position in 2018 from 37th spot last year in the Global Startup Ecosystem Ranking for 2019. India ranks 17 globally among 100 countries, based on the strength of its startup ecosystem.The USA remains the number 1 country in the ranking

2.MOU was signed between the Ministry of AYUSH and Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), New Delhi for cooperation in research and education in areas of traditional systems of medicine and its integration with modern science.AYUSH- Ayurveda, Yoga & naturopathy, Unani, Siddha & Homoeopathy

5.India's largest IT company TCS deployed an integrated solution for India Post, modernising over 1.5 lakh post offices in the country. 7.Microblogging platform Twitter has appointed Manish Maheshwari as its new Managing Director for the India market effective April 29. 8.Malayalam film Bhayanakam (Fear) directed by Jayaraj won the best cinematography award at the Beijing International Film Festival. The cinematography was done by Nikhil S Praveen.It also won the best cinematography at 65thNational Film Awards.

9.World Book and Copyright Day is celebrated every year on 23 April as it marks the birth or death of many prominent writers like William Shakespeare, Josep Pla etc. This year, UNESCO selected Sharjah as the World Book Capital for the 1-year period.2019 marks the International Year of Indigenous Languages.

10.Legendary Bengali folk singer Amar Paul passed away at age 96 years following a cerebral haemorrhage. He published books on folk music such as Banglar Lok sangeet and Banglaar Nadir Gaan.
