1.Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed the decree to award Prime Minister Narendra Modi the Order of the Holy Apostle Andrew the First-Called, the highest civilian award of the country for promoting the strategic partnership between Russia & India.The UAE also awarded Narendra Modi with the Zayed Medal.

6.India & Sweden launched a joint programme that will work towards addressing a range of challenges around smart cities & clean technologies. The programme was co-founded by the Indian Department of Science and Technology (DST) and Swedish agency Vinnova.Sweden Capital- Stockholm Currency- Krona.
7.The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has appointed Gargi Kaul as Defence Finance Secretary. Kaul was earlier Financial Advisor, Defence Services in the Defence Ministry.Sanjay Mitra is the present Defence Secretary.
8.The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has approved the merger of Tata Teleservices with Bharti Airtel Ltd., subject to the condition that it furnishes a Rs 7200 crore bank guarantee. Telecom Minister Manoj Sinha gave his conditional nod for the merger.Aruna Sundararajan is India’s Telecom Secretary.
9.President of Haiti, Jovenel Moise announced that Jean Michel Lapin will be the new prime minister of Haiti. The installation of a new government is an IMF pre-requisite for the disbursement of US$229 million loans to Haiti.Haiti Capital- Port-au-Prince Currency- Gourde.
10.Telugu poet K Siva Reddy has been selected for the prestigious Saraswati Samman, 2018 for his collection of poetry titled Pakkaki Ottigilite.The award carries a cash prize of 15 lakh rupees, a citation and a plaque.Award is given for stellar literary work in any Indian language.
