1.Union HRD Minister Ram Pokhriyal Nishank launched the SAKSHAM portal, developed by UGC that aims towards empowerment of women in campuses through creating awareness on the existing opportunities & initiatives, support & redressal mechanism.He also felicitated Vice-Chancellors of Women Univ. in Delhi.

2.Generic medicines have gained momentum in the country with its share shooting to 8% from 2% in the last 5 years as per Minister of State for Chemical and Fertilizer, Mansukh Mandaviya. Jan Aushadi stores provide affordable and cheaper medicines.7th March every year to be observed as 'Jan Aushadi Diwas.

5.Ministry of AYUSH has initiated steps to set up a nationwide digital platform called “AYUSH GRID” which aims to bring onboard all AYUSH facilities including hospitals & labs to promote traditional systems of healthcare.12,500 AYUSH H&WCs are proposed to be estd by 2023-24.

6.Pune-based National Institute of Virology has shared 2 whole genome sequence data of the novel coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) with the Global Initiative on Sharing All Influenza Data (GISAID).1st COVID-19 patient in India was from Kerala.

7.CM Yediyurappa earmarked Rs 10,000 cr for the implementation of the long-pending Upper Krishna Project stage-III in 2020-21 that will increase height of Almatti dam allowing for complete utilisation of state's share of Krishna river water allocation.Karnataka Governor: Vajubhai Vala.

8.Google India introduced DigiPivot, a skilling programme designed for women who are looking to return to their corporate careers after a break or simply planning to make mid-career shifts to digital marketing.The programme is held at Google Hyderabad campus.

9.K Anbazhagan, General Secretary of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam recently passed away at the age of 97.

10.RBI announced a draft scheme of reconstruction for the troubled private lender YES Bank, wherein the new investor will hold 49% shareholding at a minimum price of Rs 10 per share while the authorised capital of the lender will stand altered to Rs 5,000 cr.SBI Chairman: Rajnish Kumar.

11.Govt has set $10 billion minimum net worth as one of the eligibility criteria in the expression of interest (EoI) for Bharat Petroleum Corp. Ltd. In case of a consortium of investors bidding the minimum net worth for each member has been set at $1 bn.PSUs having 51% govt ownership are excluded.

12.The Superintending Engineer of Mission Bhagiratha (Bhongir Circle) has opened a dedicated monitoring cell, inviting grievances and issues in supply of the tapped drinking water. The aim of the cell is to get prepared to address water scarcity of summer.Mission Bhagiratha was launched for the state of Telangana.

13.India was admitted to the Indian Ocean Commission as an observer after it applied last month to be considered for observer status. The decision was taken at the meeting of the IOC Conference of ministers in Seychelles making India the fifth observer.Observers: China, Malta, EU and OIF.

14.Female labour-force participation in India has declined from 34% in 2006 to 24.8% in 2020, according to a new study by UNGC India. India is the only country among the 153 surveyed countries where the economic gender gap is larger than the political gap.UNGC- United Nations Global Compact.

15.7 March is celebrated as Jan Aushadhi Diwas to commemorate the achievements of Pradhan Mantri Bharatiya Janaushadi Pariyojana. PM will interact with 7 Janaushadhi Kendras. They are the biggest retail pharma chain in the world & spread across 700 districts.Aim: To create awareness about Generic medicines.

16.In a novel initiative, the Kerala has decided to offer safe abodes for couples who married across religion & castes. The initiative named “Safe Homes” will provide inter-faith & inter-caste couples temporary shelters for up to a year after their marriage.The government will be joining hands with NGOs for this.

17.Former Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and freedom fighter Amrit Kaur have been named by the TIME magazine among world's 100 powerful women who defined the last century in a new project that “spotlights influential women who were often overshadowed”.Kaur is ‘Women of the Year’ for 1947 & Indira Gandhi for 1976.

18.In order to further improve the security of its VVIP planes, India has signed a deal worth Rs 1200 Cr with the US for buying protection suites. This will protect the 2 VVIP planes that are used to ferry the President and the Prime Minister of the country."Air Force One" will be ready to fly the President/ PM by 2021.

19.Janez Jansa, President of the Slovenian Democratic Party, became the PM of the 14th Government of the Republic of Slovenia. Jansa will lead the country for the third time. Three parties, the SMC, New Slovenia and DeSUS have agreed to form a coalition.Slovenia Capital- Ljubljana, Currency- Euro.

20.Prashant Kumar, former CFO of SBI ,has taken charge as Reserve Bank of India-appointed administrator at Yes Bank Ltd.
