1.In a significant ruling, the Supreme Court said that access to the Internet is a fundamental right under Article 19 of the Constitution. 5-judge bench headed by Justice NV Ramana also asked the Jammu and Kashmir administration to restore Internet services.The verdict came on a batch of pleas.

2.International Energy Agency (IEA) launched 'India’s Energy Policy Report 2020' in collaboration with NITI Aayog. The report said that India is the third largest consumer of oil after China and United States. Also, India imports 80 percent of its oil needs.India is the fourth largest oil refiner in the world.

3.The LIGO detected gravitational waves due to collision of two neutron stars. This is the second time the gravitational waves are being detected. The total mass of the binary system is estimated to lie between 3.3 and 3.7 times the mass of the Sun.LIGO-Laser Inferometer Gravitational-wave Observatory.

4.IRDA has imposed a penalty of 1 crore on Cholamandalam MS General Insurance after charging the company of paying money in advance to businesses in violation of corporate governance rules. It must pay the penalty within 15 days of receiving the order.Cholamandalam MS General Insurance HQ-Chennai.

5.HDFC Bank launched ‘myApps’ application to boost digital payments in India. It is a unique customised suite of banking products to benefit urban local bodies, housing societies, local clubs & gymkhanas & religious institutions to digitise their ecosystem.mySociety, myClub, myPrayer & myCity are other HDFC apps.

6.Digital payments gateway provider PayU has acquired a controlling stake in Mumbai-based consumer lending platform PaySense & all its assets at a valuation of $185 million. PayU will inject up to $200 million in the newly created entity as equity capital.Prashanth Ranganathan will lead PayU’s credit business in India.

7.Axis Mutual Fund launched its new fund 'Axis All Seasons Debt Fund of Funds'. The ‘FoF' will invest in funds from across fund houses and across different categories of the debt market with an intention to generate an optimal return over the medium term.It will invest in debt-oriented mutual fund schemes.

8.Flipkart co-founder & former CEO Sachin Bansal has reportedly acquired DHFL General Insurance from Wadhawan Group Capital for around Rs 100 crore. The deal is seen as a distress sale for Kapil Wadhawan-led financial services group, which used to run DHFL.WGC is the parent company of crisis-hit DHFL.

9.Andhra Pradesh Government has signed a MOU with the representatives of German firm, KFW on Zero Budget Natural Farming. Govt has taken a loan of Rs 711 Cr out of the estimated amount of Rs 1015 Cr earmarked to be spent towards the climate resilient, ZBNF.The agriculture department would work as the nodal agency.

10.India Pulses and Grains Association (IPGA)-the nodal body for India's pulses trade and industry-announced that the fifth edition of 'The Pulses Conclave', their biennial global pulses conference will be held at Amby Valley City in Lonavala, Maharashtra.Conference will be held on 2020 February 12 to 14.

11.Andhra Pradesh CM Jagan Mohan Reddy launched Amma Vodi Scheme. Under the flagship programme, the state government will extend financial assistance to the tune of Rs. 15000 per year to the mothers/guardians who send their children to state run schools.State will spend Rs. 6455.80 Cr towards the scheme this year.
