1.American Express, the world’s largest card issuer by purchase volume, has launched the SmartEarn Credit Card for millennials in India. It carries an annual fee of ₹495, along with ₹500 cashback in the first year in the form of statement credit.Manoj Adlakha, CEO-American Express Banking Corp.

2.New Development Bank (NDB) has decided to lend Rs 6,000 crores to Andhra Pradesh Government for various projects. The amount will be used for social infrastructure projects and will be repaid in 32 years.The New Development Bank was set up in 2015 by BRICS nations.

3.Former Pakistan spinner Abdul Qadir, credited for reviving the art of leg-spin bowling in the 1970s and 80s, died of a heart attack.

4.Pak Jong Chon has been appointed the "chief of the General Staff of the Korean People's Army. He succeeds Ri Yong Gil, an expert on military operations who has served in the position on two separate occasions since 2013.North Korea Capital, Pyongyang.

5.Fin. ministry has set up task force headed by the finance ministry’s economic affairs secretary. It will draw up plan for the ‘national infrastructure pipeline’ from 2019-20 to 2024-25.Task force will submit the report on the plan for 2019-20 by October.It also includes 5 other officials from think tank NITI Aayog.

6.Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched an indigenously-built metro coach to be used by the upcoming Mumbai metro network. It has been built by Bharat Earth Movers (BEML) at its Bengaluru facility in flat 75 days.D K Hota, CMD Bharat Earth Movers (BEML).

7.According to international airlines body IATA ,India's July RPK (Revenue Passenger Kilometre) growth at 8.9% was higher than what was observed in June this year at 8.2%. Total (global) RPKs rose 3.6%, compared to the same month in 2018.International Air Transport Association, HQs Montreal, Canada.

8.Robert Mugabe, the bush war guerrilla leader who led Zimbabwe to independence in 1980 and crushed his foes during nearly four decades of rule as his country descended into poverty, hyperinflation and unrest, died on Friday.
