1.The government announced the appointment of Dr Sanjay Tyagi as Director General of Health Services (DGHS). He will hold the position of DGHS till he attains 62 years of age. He is Director of GB Pant Institute.DGHS is under Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
2.Reserve Bank of India (RBI) reduced the risk weight requirement for consumer loans to 100 per cent, a move that will reduce cost of such loans. Currently, the risk weight requirement for such loans is 125 per cent.It would not be applicable to credit cards.
3.Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Maan Dhan Yojana at Ranchi. The Scheme will secure the lives of 5 Crore Small and Marginal Farmers by providing a minimum pension of Rs 3000 per month, to those who attain 60 years of age.22 cr. + people have joined Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Yojana.
4.National Green Tribunal (NGT) has set up a committee to formulate steps required to prevent its unauthorised extraction. The nodal agency for this will be the Joint Secretary, Ministry of Water Resources (MoWR) for coordination and compliance.Minister of Jal Shakti- Gajendra Singh Shekhawat.
5.India joined the Global Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) Research and Development (R&D) Hub as a new member. The Global AMR R&D Hub was launched in May 2018 in the margins of the 71st session of the World Health Assembly.Minister of Health and Family Welfare-Dr Harsh Vardhan.
6.Power transmission and distribution company Adani Transmission Ltd is set to raise $750 million to $1 billion by selling overseas dollar-denominated bonds. Standard Chartered Bank is currently advising the company.Adani Transmission ,Headquarters: Ahmedabad.
7.Defence Ministry signed contract with JSC Rosoboronexport, Russian Federation for modernisation of “Air Defence Complex Kashmir and Radar Fregat MAE” on P-15 (Delhi class) of ships.Delhi class destroyers - INS Delhi, INS Mysore & INS Mumbai.
8.Joint Military Exercise MAITREE-2019 between India & Thailand will be conducted at Foreign Training Node, Umroi (Meghalaya) from 16-29 Sep 2019. Its scope covers company level joint training on counter terrorism operations in jungle and urban scenario.The First Exercise MAITREE took place in 2006.
9.Union Human Resource Development Minister presented CBSE Teacher Awards - 2018 to 34 teachers of the country. He also launched CBSE's portal 'Vidyadhan' on Diksha App, a Digital Infrastructure for Knowledge Sharing's.HRD minister- Ramesh Pokhriyal ' Nishank'.
10.Small industrial Development Bank of India (SIDBI) is a development financial institution in India, headquartered at Lucknow and having its offices all over the country. Its purpose is to provide refinance facilities and short term lending to industries, and serves as the principal financial institution in the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector. SIDBI also coordinates the functions of institutions engaged in similar activities. It was established on April 2, 1990, through an Act of Parliament.
