ONE LINER OF THE DAY 12th SEP 2019


1.PM Narendra Modi launched Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) 2019, a massive countrywide awareness and mobilization campaign on Swachhata at Mathura, UP. It is specially focused on ‘plastic waste awareness and management’.SHS tenure-11th September to October 2nd 2019.

2.The International Finance Corporation (IFC), has signed a MoU with the Finance Industry Development Council (FIDC), a representative body of asset and loan Financing NBFCs, to collaborate on training of NBFCs in the country.Raman Aggarwal, Chairman, FIDC.

3.India & South Korean bonds secured most of the regional inflows thanks to their high returns. Overseas investors purchased $1.69 billion worth of Indian bonds in August. Last month, Asian bonds received a combined total inflow of $1.79 billion.South Korea Capital- Seoul.

4.Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) successfully flight tested indigenously developed low weight, fire and forget Man Portable Antitank Guided Missile (MPATGM) in the ranges of Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh.Dr G. Satheesh Reddy, Chairman, DRDO.

5.SBI will raise up to Rs 3,465 crore by offloading up to 4.5 per cent stake in SBI Life Insurance Co to bring down the promoter shareholding. The floor price for the share sale has been fixed at Rs 770 per equity share.SBI Chairman- Rajnish Kumar.

6.P.K. Mishra, currently serving as the additional principal secretary to Narendra Modi, has been appointed as principal secretary to the Prime Minister.P.K. Sinha, officer on special duty in the PMs office, has been appointed principal adviser to the PM.Current Defence Secretary is Ajay Kumar.

7.CBDT launched one-time facility to apply for compounding of income tax offences ,taxpayers can avail this opportunity by Dec 31. A taxpayer will have to file an application for compounding a tax offence before the competent authority to avail this..Central Board of Direct Taxes-CBDT.

8.Mahabaleshwara MS, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Karnataka Bank, has been inducted to the managing committee of Indian Banks’ Association (IBA). He was elected unopposed from the private sector member banks’ category.IBA Chairman,Sunil Mehta.

9.India is set to receive the first of 36 Rafale fighter jets in Paris on October 8(foundation day of IAF). India signed an inter-governmental agreement with France in Sep, 2016 for procurement of 36 Rafale fighter jets at a cost of around Rs 58,000 crore.Rafale in French,-"une rafale" -- a sudden, brutal gust of wind.

10.UM of state HRD, Sanjay Dhotre launched the Curriculum for Life Skills (JeevanKaushal) designed by University Grants Commission (UGC), in New Delhi. It will lead to improvement in the collective efficiency of country’s young population.Dhirendra Pal Singh- Chairman of UGC.
