ONE LINER OF THE DAY 22nd June 2019


1.Saudi Arabia has become the first Arab country to be granted full membership of the Financial Action Task Force. Now, FATF has 39 full members, including the permanent members of the UN Security Council and most countries of the G-20.FATF is headquartered at Paris, France.

2.RBI has assigned lead bank responsibility to SBI for 2 new dists (Mulugu & Narayanpet) in Telangana & 1 dist (Niwari) in MP. Lead bank acts as a leader for coordinating the efforts of credit inst. in the allotted districts to increase the flow of credit.SBI Chairman – Rajnish Kumar.

3.Maruti Suzuki has signed an MoU with Bank of Baroda to improve credit for its dealers and customers. The partnership will allow Maruti Suzuki to provide more comprehensive financing opportunities to dealers as well as customers.The tagline of Bank of Baroda – India’s International Bank.

4.Mahindra Asset Management Company has entered into a joint venture (51:49) with Canada-based global financial services group, Manulife to expand the depth and breadth of fund offerings and retail fund penetration in the country.Ashutosh Bishnoi - CEO of Mahindra Asset Management Company.

5.Indian Navy launched Operation Sankalp in the Gulf of Oman to re-assure Indian Flagged Vessels operating via Persian Gulf & Gulf of Oman. INS Chennai and INS Sunayna have deployed to undertake maritime operations.Information Fusion Centre – IOR was launched at Gurugram.

6.India & France have decided to deepen the cooperation in the cybersecurity sector & work towards curbing the use of the Internet for terrorist purposes & online radicalization. The decision was taken at the third Indo-French cyber dialogue in Paris.Union Minister of External Affairs – Subrahmanyam Jaishankar.

7.PM Modi will attend the G-20 summit at Osaka in Japan where issues such as financial stability, WTO reform, black money, and terrorism will be on top of the agenda for India. It would be the sixth time that PM Modi would be participating in the summit.G-20 economies account for nearly 90% of gross world product.

8.In Gymnastics, India's Pranati Nayak clinched a bronze medal in the vault event at the Senior Asian Artistic Championships in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. China's Yu Linmin and Japan's Ayaka Sakaguchi won the gold and silver medal at the same event.India’s 1st female Olympic gymnast – Dipa Karmakar.

9.Railway Minister stated that 1,253 stations have been identified for development under Adarsh Station Scheme out of which 1,103 railway stations have been developed and the remaining stations are planned to be developed by 2019-20.South Coast Railway is headquartered at Visakhapatnam.

10.Flipkart has roped in banks, NBFCs to offer seller-partners working capital loans within 2 days under 'Growth Capital’ programme. It has tied up with SBI, BOB, Axis Bank, Aditya Birla Fin, Tata Capital, Flexiloans, SIDBI, LendingKart, Indifi & Happy Loans.Sellers can avail loans up to ₹ 3 cr at interest rate of 9.5%.
