1.Fifth International Yoga Day is celebrated on June 21 to raise awareness worldwide of the many benefits of practicing yoga. The 2019 theme of the day is ‘Yoga for Climate Action’. This year's main event in India was held in Ranchi, Jharkhand.Yoga Locator app was launched by the Ministry of AYUSH.

2.Federal Bank has raised ₹ 300 Cr by issuing Basel III-compliant bonds on private placement basis. The bonds with a tenure of 10 yrs, will bear coupon rate of 9.75% per annum payable annually. Banks in India must comply with Basel III norms by Mar 31, 2020.The tagline of Federal Bank – Your Perfect Banking Partner.

3.DBS Bank has revised India's GDP growth for the fiscal year 2020 downwards to 6.8% year-on-year (YoY) from 7%. The bank has expected 3.8% inflation in FY 20.DBS Bank is headquartered in Singapore.

4.NHB has increased the capital adequacy ratio for Housing Finance Companies. The minimum CAR of 15% needs to be achieved by March 2022. Also, NHB added that the companies cannot accept fixed deposits of not more than 3 times their NOF.Dakshita Das is the CEO and MD of National Housing Bank.

5.India has extended USD 15 million assistance to Niger for organizing the African Union (AU) summit scheduled to be held in Niamey. The AU summit is expected to launch the historic African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).Niger:Capital – Niamey; Currency – CFA franc.

6.National Health Authority & ICICI Foundation have signed an agreement to train 15,000 state & district personnel & Arogya Mitras to streamline delivery of health services under AB –PM JAY. Arogya Mitras serves as the first-point contact for beneficiaries.Indu Bhushan is the CEO of Ayushman Bharat-PM JAY.

7.Securities and Exchange Board of India has set up a working group, headed by NSE Clearing Ltd., to review the current framework of margins in the futures and options segment. It will submit its recommendations to the Secondary Market Advisory Committee.Chairman of SEBI – Ajay Tyagi.

8.Kerala is gearing up for the launch of India’s 1st solar-powered cruise boat by Dec. It will be rolled out in Alappuzha. The hybrid vessel will be powered by a motor that can source energy from solar panels. Its battery will have 80 KWh power backup.Kerala CM – Pinarayi Vijayan; Governor – P Sathasivam.

9.World Health Organization has launched an online tool known as ‘AWaRe’, aimed at guiding policymakers & health workers to use antibiotics safely & more effectively. ‘AWaRe’ classifies antibiotics into three groups named Access, Watch &Reserve.WHO: HQ – Geneva, Switzerland.

10.Nitesh Kumar Jangir has won the 2019 Commonwealth Secretary – General’s Innovation for Sustainable Development Award in London.
