1.Hockey India named Australia's Graham Reid as the new chief coach of the Indian men's hockey team till the end of 2020. Reid was part of the silver-medal winning Australian team at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics.Manpreet Singh is the captain of Indian Men’s Hockey Team.
2.World Homoeopathy Day is observed on 10 April every year to commemorate the birth anniversary of the founder of Homoeopathy, Dr. Christian Fredrich Samuel Hahnemann. The theme for 2019 is “Linking research with education and clinical practice”.A 2-day convention to be organised in New Delhi from 9-10 April.
3.Ram Nath Kovind released the India Rankings 2019 & presented the India Rankings awards to the top eight institutions in different categories at a function held in New Delhi. He also released the Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements.IISc in Bangaluru is the best institute in India.
4.ITBP along with Sky Running Association of India organised the National Sky Running Championship at Mountaineering & Skiing Institute of ITBP at Auli, Uttarakhand. This is the 1st time such championship was organised at a high altitude of up to 4000 m.ITBP- Indo Tibetan Border Police
5.The Tamil Nadu government has renamed the iconic Chennai Central Railway Station as Puratchi Thalaivar Dr. MGR Central Railway Station. The station was renamed after the receipt of 'no objection' from the Union Home Ministry.It is renamed after late TN CM & AIADMK founder MG Ramachandran.
6.The Reserve Bank of India came out with guidelines for banks to set up new currency chests in which min area of 1500 sq ft for strong room & for those situated in hilly/ inaccessible places, the strong room/ vault area of at least 600 sq ft.New chests to have processing capacity of 6.6l banknotes per day.
7.The Ordnance Factory Board (OFB) has handed over six indigenously built Dhanush artillery guns to the Army. Dhanush is the first indigenously built 155mm x 45mm calibre long-range artillery gun with a strike range of 38-kilometre.OFB Chairman- Saurabh Kumar HQ- Kolkata

9.President Ram Nath Kovind paid homage to the martyrs of police at National Police Memorial in New Delhi today on 54th Valour Day of Central Reserve Police Force, CRPF. He also presented Gallantry medals to six Jawans posthumously.Healso launched Veer Parivar app for kin of CRPF Martyrs.
10.BIS has inked an MoU with the IIT Delhi to collaborate in the field of standardisation and conformity assessment. They will also set up a Centre of Excellence in the field of standardization, testing and conformity assessment.IIT Delhi was ranked 172 in QS World University Rankings.
