1.Karnam Sekar, who was the MD & CEO of Dena Bank, has been appointed as the chief of Indian Overseas Bank (IOB) while RA Sankara Narayanan, MD & CEO of Vijaya Bank, has been appointed as the MD & CEO of Canara Bank.Canara Bank HQ- Bengaluru Indian Overseas Bank HQ- Chennai.

2.The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has cut India's growth forecast for 2019-20 from 7.5% to 7.3%. It has further projected the country to grow at 7.5% in 2020-21, supported by the continued recovery of investment & robust consumption.Both ADB & RBI cut India’s growth from 7.4 to 7.2%.

3.Emirates Islamic has announced the launch of Chat Banking services for customers via WhatsApp, marking it the world’s first in the Islamic banking sector. 5.India has retained its top spot on remittances with its diaspora sending USD 79 billion back home in 2018, according to the latest edition of the World Bank's Migration and Development Brief. Remittances grew by more than 14% in India.John Keynes & Harry White are the founders of the World Bank.

6.London became the first city in the world to implement a special Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) that would charge an entry fee for older vehicles if they do not meet the emission standards.United Kingdom Capital- London London Mayor- Sadiq Khan.

7.A National Anti-Doping Agency disciplinary panel has handed a four-year suspension to Asian champion woman shot putter Manpreet Kaur for testing positive on four occasions over 84 days in 2017.She won gold at Asian Grand Prix in Jinhua, China 2017.

8.SBI has reduced the interest rate on housing loans of up to ₹30 lakh by 10 basis points to a range between 8.60% and 8.90% per annum. It also cut its benchmark lending rates by five basis points across all tenor which now stands at 8.50%, down from 8.55%.SBI is ranked 216 in the Fortune Global 500 list.

9.Ford Motor Co is nearing a deal with Mahindra & Mahindra to form a new joint-venture company in India. US automaker Ford will form a new unit in India in which it will hold a 49% stake, while India's Mahindra will own 51% in the joint venture company.Anand Mahindra is the CEO of M&M.

10.Maharashtra has the highest number of polluted rivers stretches in the country according to the National Green Tribunal (NGT). Maharashtra also has the most number of polluted cities and towns.Justice Adarsh Kumar Goel is the chairperson of NGT.
