1.SUN Group Founder and Chairman Vikramjit Singh Sahney elected as the new president of International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) – India while Murtaza Khorakiwala is appointed as the Vice President of ICC India.ICC HQ- Paris, France Chairman- Paul Polman

2.Astronomers have taken the first-ever image of a black hole, which is in a distant galaxy. The image which has been captured by a network of 8 telescopes across the world, shows an intensely bright 'ring of fire' surrounding a perfectly circular dark hole.Black hole is located 500 million trillion km away from Earth.

3.Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) and the Indian Army joined hands to conduct a three-day joint exercise 'Bold Kurukshetra 2019' in India between April 8 and April 11 at Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh.SIMBAX is an annual naval exercise between Indian & Singapore.

4.Indonesian Eni Nuraeni was named by Asian Athletic Association (AAA) as the best athletic coach in Asia for the short-haul run category this year Eni coaches sprinter Lalu Muhammad Zohri to win 100m gold in 2019 Grand Prix Malaysia Open championships.Indonesia Capital- Jakarta Currency- Rupiah.

5.BSE signs an MoU with HDFC Bank to spread awareness about the benefits of listing on BSE Startup's platform. BSE also has a dedicated platform for trading in equities of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) that have been highly successful.HDFC Bank is India’s largest private sector lender by assets.

6.Algeria’s parliament named the 76-year-old Abdelkader Bensalah, leader of the upper house, as interim president. This appointment comes after former President Abdelaziz Bouteflika ended his 20-year reign following mass protests.Algeria Capital- Algiers Currency- Dinar

7.India’s education technology startup ‘Dost Education’ has bagged a $25,000 Next Billion Edtech prize along with two other winners from Tanzania and Egypt. The prize is run by the United Kingdom-based Varkey Foundation.Tanzania Capital- Dodoma Currency- Shilling.

8.DBS Bank India Limited has announced the 1st edition of its Hack2Hire programme in Bengaluru to hire over 100 brightest minds in emerging technologies such as Cloud Computing, AI etc. The programme will focus on the theme of ‘intelligent banking’.DBS Bank HQ- Singapore CEO- Piyush Gupta.

9.Team India opener Smriti Mandhana has been named as the Wisden Almanack's 'Leading Women's Cricketer of the Year'. The 22-year-old is currently the top-ranked player in women's ODI and third in T20Is.The ICC named her Women’s Cricketer of the Year for 2018.

10.Veteran Kerala politician K M Mani passed away at Kochi, Kerala. His age was 86 years. Mani had been serving as the founder chairman of Kerala Congress (M) party, was a sitting MLA over the last 54 years & also served as a minister in Kerala for 25 years.Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium is in Kochi, Kerala.
