1.Shalini Warrier has been appointed as Executive Director of Federal Bank. The Bank received the approval of the Reserve Bank of India in this regard. Warrier has been serving as Chief Operating Officer of the Bank since 2nd November 2015.Shyam Srinivasan,MD & CEO of The Federal Bank Ltd.

2.RBI will conduct a fourth round of simultaneous purchase and sale of government bonds on Jan. 23, under its special open market operations being dubbed as ‘Operation Twist’.This policy is inspired by the U.S. Federal Reserve’s Operation Twist strategy.Michael Debabrata Patra recently appointed 4th RBI Dy. Governor.

3.India’s first e-commerce housing portal, HousingForAll.com will be opened for homebuyers from Feb 14.Through this portal, lowest priced inventory will be made available by builders. CREDAI-MCHI, CII, FICCI, ASSOCHAM etc. are partners in this initiative.NAREDCO- formed under the aegis of MoHUA for this purpose.

4.Suresh Khatanhar has taken charge as IDBI Bank’s Deputy Managing Director for 3 years. Before his role as DMD, he was associated with IDBI Bank as an Executive Director heading Mid Corporate Group and Trade Finance.Rakesh Sharma, MD & Chief Executive Officer of IDBI Bank.

5.Researchers at IIT Kharagpur have evolved an Artificial Intelligence-aided method to automate the reading of legal case judgments. Two deep neural models to understand the rhetorical roles of sentences in a legal case judgment have been developed.John McCarthy coined the term "artificial intelligence" in 1955.

6.The US based tech Google has introduced a new "Google IT Automation with Python Professional Certificate" a program which is designed to provide job-ready skills in Python, Git and IT automation in under six months.Google CEO Sundar Pichai .

7.Vinesh Phogat won her first gold medal of the 2020 season at the Rome Ranking Series event after teen sensation Anshu Malik settled for a silver in 57kg competition. Vinesh downed two tough Chinese rivals on her way to the 53kg gold medal bout.She has won Arjuna Award for Wrestling.

8.Russia has started production of S-400 long-range surface-to-air missile systems for India, and all five units will be delivered by 2025. Indian Armed forces will receive the first batch of 5,000 Kalashnikov rifles this year.S-400 missile system, designer: Almaz-Antey

9.Sania Mirza and her Ukrainian partner Nadiia Kichenok have won the women's doubles title of the WTA International trophy at Hobart in Australia. In the final , they beat Shaui Peng and Shuai Zhang of China 6-4,6-4.It is Sania's 42nd WTA doubles title.

10.The Regional Outreach Bureau, Jammu and Kashmir region organised a two day Zonal Conference of Media units of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India at Jammu. It was 3rd edition of North Zone Conference.Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Girish Chandra Murmu.

11.Former India all-rounder Bapu Nadkarni passed away. He was best known for bowling a record 21 successive maiden overs in a Test match. Nadkarni, a left-handed batsman and slow-left arm orthodox bowler played 41 Tests scored 1414 runs & grabbed 88 wickets.
