1.In recognition Mother Teresa’s role of charity in alleviating humanitarian crises & human suffering within & among nation, UN designated September 5, as International Day of Charity to mark the day she expired.She won Nobel Peace prize in 1979.

2.Standard Chartered Bank launched a DigiSmart credit card that would be available for a monthly fee of ₹49, which will, however, be waived off if the customer spends more than ₹5,000 in the previous month.Standard Chartered HQ: London, UK.

3.President Ram Nath Kovind to confer the National Award to Teachers-2018 in New Delhi & "Prerna App" was launched by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to mark the occasion of birth anniversary of former President Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan on September 5.Google released an animated doodle for Teacher’s Day.

4.Wipro Ltd secured a strategic 7-yr deal valued at $300 mn from ICICI Bank to provide a suite of digital services & to further strengthen our endeavor to provide differentiated technology & digital capabilities to financial services industry.Azim Premji handed over the Wipro chair to Rishad Premji.

5.Nissan announced the appointment of Rakesh Srivastava as Managing Director, Nissan Motor India and would report to Sinan Ozkok, President of Nissan India Operations. He worked as Director in charge of electric vehicle development, JSW Group.Nissan automobile HQ: Yokohama, Japan.

6.India-Russia signed a 5-year road map for cooperation in the energy sector, cooperation in the production of spare parts for Russian-Indian military equipment to infrastructure finance. 7.RBI has made it mandatory for banks to link all of their new loan products- personal, housing or auto to an external benchmark like the policy repo rate w.e.f 1st October 2019. 8.Nobel Laureate from Bangladesh Professor Muhammad Yunus was conferred the 'Lamp of Peace of Saint Francis ' award by the Vatican for his contribution towards establishing peace & harmony at the historical Papal Basilica of Assisi in Italy.Vatican is a city-state surrounded by Rome, Italy.

9.LaShawn Daniels, a Grammy Award-winning songwriter who penned songs for Beyoncé, Whitney Houston and Lady Gaga has died. He was 41. He earned a Grammy in 2001 for his songwriting work on Destiny Child's 'Say My Name.'

10.Teachers' Day in India is celebrated on 5 September every year to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan - First Vice President of India and the Second President of India and an educationist at heart.
