1.Maharashtra government has decided to set up ‘Swachh Bharat World University’ in Wardha to mark Mahatma Gandhi’s 150th birth anniversary. The University will focus on research studies in sanitation, cleanliness and environment.Maharashtra Governor - Bhagat Singh Koshyari.

2.Delhi Police has launched a newly integrated one-touch mobile app 'Tatpar' to provide safety & a convenient online mode on 24x7 basis to its citizen. With this app, people can share information to police about a suspicious vehicle or person or of a crime.Tatpar app includes an SOS button for urgent police assistance.

3.As per the RBI's data, UAE, UK & US were the largest investors together accounting for one-third of the MF units held by non-residents. UAE (16%) is in the 1st spot in the investments by non-residents in MF units followed by the USA (9.6%).UAE invested ₹ 14979 Crore in Indian Mutual Funds.

4.Kerala has inked a memorandum of understanding with the Maldives to strengthen cancer care in the island nation. The state health department and RCC would also provide support in setting up cancer care centres in the Maldives.Maldives President - Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.

5.Former India all-rounder Dinesh Mongia announced his retirement from all forms of cricket. He is best known for being chosen over VVS Laxman in the team that finished runner-up in ICC World Cup 2003 in South Africa. He made his U-19 debut for Punjab (1995).

6.Rajnath Singh has become the 1st defence minister to fly in the indigenously built light combat aircraft. He flew in the Tejas fighter aircraft from HAL airport, Bengaluru. He was accompanied by Air Vice Marshal N Tiwari, Project Director, ADA in Bengaluru.

7.The Board of Indian Bank has given in-principle approval for the merger of Allahabad Bank with itself. 9.As per the data from Union Nations Dept of Economic & Social Affairs, India has emerged as the leading country of origin for immigrants followed by Mexico. European region (82 mn) hosted the highest number of immigrants, followed by North America (59 mn).Bangladesh - leading country of origin for migrants in India.

10.Veteran Kerala actor Sathar passed away at the age of 67. He has acted in more than 300 films including Tamil and Telugu films. He made his debut in the Malayalam movie Bharyaye Aavashyamundu directed by M. Krishnan Nair in 1975.
