1.Uttar Pradesh has become No.1 in implementation of PM Suraksha Bima Yojana. 1.95 Cr people have been given insurance cover under the scheme till 31 Mar 2019. People can get accidental insurance cover of ₹ 2 L by paying a nominal premium of ₹ 12 annually.UP stands 2nd in the execution of PM Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana.

2.Govt has reconstituted the GoM looking after the issues of how to prevent sexual harassment at workplace & strengthen legal frameworks with Amit Shah, replacing Rajnath Singh. Members are Nirmala Sitharaman, Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ & Smriti Irani.GoM on sexual harassment was set up in October 2018.

3.The Noida Authority has entered into a pact with Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) for setting up infrastructure for mobility based on clean energy. It will provide EESL with space at parking lots for setting up 100 charging stations.Saurabh Kumar- Managing Director for EESL.

4.Indian Council of Medical Research launched a platform named ‘National Data Quality Forum’ (NDQF) to improve quality of health and demographic data. It would integrate learning from scientific &evidence-based initiatives via periodic workshops& conferences.Balram Bhargava - Director General of the ICMR.

5.Arunachal Pradesh CM Pema Khandu launched the state-wide tree plantation programme ‘Clean-Green Arunachal Campaign 2019’ in Itanagar. The campaign under the State Forest department will plant 1-lakh tree saplings in the next 24 hours.Arunachal is considered one of the 18 ‘biodiversity hotspots’.

6.Kargil Vijay Diwas is celebrated on 26 July every year to commemorate India’s victory and honour the brave war heroes. India won the two-month-long war by regaining control of all the previously held territory, re-establishing the status quo ante bellum.2019 is the 20th anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas.

7.Indian football team slipped 2 places to 103rd in the FIFA rankings. The team lies at 18th among Asian countries. Iran (23) is at the top among Asian countries, followed by Japan (33). Belgium leads the chart, followed by Brazil, France, England & Uruguay.USA topped on the FIFA rankings in Women’s category.

8.Reliance Industries has become the top-ranked Indian company to feature in the latest Fortune Global 500 list. RIL has ranked at 106 in the latest list. IOC improved its position to 117th rank. The 2019 ranking was led by Walmart followed by Sinopec Group.State Bank of India has ranked at 236th in the list.

9.The Indian armed forces conduct the country's first-ever stimulated space warfare exercise named ‘IndSpaceEx’. It aims to assess ‘imminent threats’ to the nation beyond earth. It also plans on drafting a joint space doctrine for future battles.Microsat-R satellite was launched under Mission Shakti.

10.Dutch actor Rutger Hauer, who specialized in menacing roles, including a memorable turn as a murderous android in 'Blade Runner' opposite Harrison Ford, has died. He was 75. He won a supporting-actor Golden Globe award in 1988 for 'Escape from Sobibor.'He played roles in Sin City, Batman Begins & Nighthawks.
