1.West Bengal government has announced a crop insurance scheme called Bangla Shashya Bima in collaboration with the Agriculture Insurance Company of India for the 2019 Kharif season. The scheme is applicable for farmers in 15 districts of the state.WB’s Utkarsh Bangla & Sabooj Sathi schemes won UN awards.

2.GoI, Govt of Rajasthan & WB signed a $ 250 Mn loan agreement for the Rajasthan State Highways Development Program II Project to build the State's capacity to better manage its highways and improve traffic flows on selected highways.CM of Rajasthan - Ashok Gehlot.

3.HRD Ministry has released a 5-year vision plan named Education Quality Upgradation & Inclusion Programme (EQUIP). The report has been prepared by experts from various areas, including promoting excellence, employability & entrepreneurship among others.Union HRD Minister - Ramesh Pokhriyal 'Nishank'.

5.Virat Kohli became the fastest batsman to reach 20000 international runs. He reached the milestone in only his 417th international innings. He became the 12th batsman & 3rd Indian after Tendulkar & Rahul Dravid to reach 20000 international runs.Mumbai Indians won the IPL 2019 title.

6.Union Minister for Jal Shakti Gajendra Singh Shekhawat asserted that flow of raw sewage into the river Ganga will be completely stopped by 2022 and the government is working on a Mission Mode to achieve the target.India’s rank is 122nd in the World in terms of contamination.

7.Haryana govt launched ‘Krishi kiosk’ at Panchkula which would give farmers info about govt schemes & help them file claims under the PM Fasal Bima Yojana. The kiosk comes under ‘Digital Kisan Suvidha’ plan which aims to bring services for farmers online.‘Agri Scope’ book was launched by Om Prakash Dhankar.

8.India & Japan have discussed strengthening collaboration in the area of skill development & increasing bilateral technical exchanges. Also, they discussed the proposal of speeding up Technical Internship Training Programme.Japan: Capital – Tokyo. President - Shinzo Abe.

9.In Hockey, the Central Railway beat Western Railway in the women's final of the St Peters Youth Centre Open Hockey Tournament in Mumbai. In the men's final, Union Bank of India prevailed over Coorg eleven to emerge champions.Dhyanchand Trophy is associated with Hockey.

10.Famous Telugu writer Abburi Chaya Devi has died. She was 86. She received the Kendra Sahitya Akademi Award in 2005 for her book 'Thana Margam.' Her works were translated into English and other languages.Evarni Chesukonu is her another popular work.
