7.The World Bank has provided additional financing of $137 million (nearly ₹960 crore) for the Dam Rehabilitation and Improvement Project (DRIP) to rehabilitate and modernise over 220 selected large dams in six states.World Bank releases Ease of Doing Business Report every year.
8.Airbnb has agreed to acquire San-Francisco based hotel-booking app HotelTonight. HotelTonight's is valued at $463 million as per its last funding round. The objective is for Airbnb to be a one-stop-shop for holiday goers.Brian Chesky is the CEO of Airbnb.
9.A team of IIT-Kharagpur students has developed the code for a smartphone app that can detect counterfeit currency. The app verifies a note's authenticity, uploaded by a user using 25 features extracted from the front and rear side of it.IIT Kharagpur is the 1st IIT of India being established in 1951.
