1.Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the 50th Raising Day celebrations of Central Industrial Security Forces (CISF) at Indirapuram in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. He presented the service medals for distinguished and meritorious services.Rajesh Ranjan is the Director General of CISF. HQ- New Delhi

2.Indian gymnast Dipa Karmakar was selected as Barbie role model & was presented with a one-of-a-kind doll by Barbie as the company celebrates its 60th anniversary. She was part of the ‘Shero’ program launched in 2015 by the company.Dipa Karmakar was the 1st Indian female gymnast in the Olympics.

3.Marshall Islands became the 1st country ever to launch decentralized national digital currency SOV & accepted it as national legal tender. This cryptocurrency is co-developed by Neema, an Israel based company.Marshall Island Capital- Majuru Currency- US Dollar.

4.Ashu Khullar will replace Pramit Jhaveri as CEO of CITI Bank India from April 1. In January, the RBI imposed a Rs 3 crore fine on the bank for shortcomings in regulatory compliance. CITI bank’s NPA was only 0.55% as on 31 March 2018.CITI Bank India HQ- Mumbai Tagline- CITI Never Sleeps.

5.Turmeric grown in the Erode region, Tamil Nadu was conferred the Geographical Indication tag enabling the farmers and traders from the region to claim sole rights over the famous ‘Erode Manjal’.Vikon Turmeric of Maharashtra is also GI tagged product.

6.Former Finance Secretary Hasmukh Adhia on Friday was appointed as the chancellor of Gujarat Central University for 5 years. The appointment was approved by President Ram Nath Kovind. He succeeds Yoginder K Alagh.Hasmukh Adhia was also appointed as Chairman of Bank of Baroda.

7.The World Bank has provided additional financing of $137 million (nearly ₹960 crore) for the Dam Rehabilitation and Improvement Project (DRIP) to rehabilitate and modernise over 220 selected large dams in six states.World Bank releases Ease of Doing Business Report every year.

8.Airbnb has agreed to acquire San-Francisco based hotel-booking app HotelTonight. HotelTonight's is valued at $463 million as per its last funding round. The objective is for Airbnb to be a one-stop-shop for holiday goers.Brian Chesky is the CEO of Airbnb.

9.A team of IIT-Kharagpur students has developed the code for a smartphone app that can detect counterfeit currency. The app verifies a note's authenticity, uploaded by a user using 25 features extracted from the front and rear side of it.IIT Kharagpur is the 1st IIT of India being established in 1951.

10.Election Commission of India announced the schedule for 2019 Lok Sabha elections & State elections of Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Odisha & Sikkim. Poll to be conducted in 7 phases from 11 April & the result will be declared on 23 May.Chief Election Commissioner- Sunil Arora
