ONE LINER OF THE DAY 6th March 2018.


1.Nagzira wildlife sanctuary is located between Bhandara district and Gondia district of Maharashtra at . Nagzira Wildlife Sanctuary is locked in the arms of nature and adorned with a picturesque landscape, luxuriant vegetation and serves as a living outdoor museum to explore and appreciate nature.

2.Kali Tiger Reserve  is a protected area and tiger reserve. It is located in Uttara Kannada district, in Karnataka, India.

3.The Reserve Bank of India will inject Rs 1 lakh crore short term money into the banking system ahead of the financial year-end that normally sees cash crunch. The move is likely to keep short term rates under check benefiting borrowing companies. “In order to address additional demand for liquidity and with a view to provide flexibility to the banking system in its liquidity management towards March-end, it is prepared to inject adequate additional liquidity.

4.The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is India's central banking institution, which controls the monetary policy of the Indian rupee. It commenced its operations on 1 April 1935 in accordance with the Reserve Bank of India Act, 1934. The original share capital was divided into shares of 100 each fully paid, which were initially owned entirely by private shareholders. Following India's independence on 15 August 1947, the RBI was nationalised on 1 January 1949.
The RBI plays an important part in the Development Strategy of the Government of India. It is a member bank of the Asian Clearing Union. The general superintendence and direction of the RBI is entrusted with the 21-member Central Board of Directors: the Governor, 4 Deputy Governors, 2 Finance Ministry representatives, 10 government-nominated directors to represent important elements of India's economy, and 4 directors to represent local boards headquartered at Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai and New Delhi. Each of these local boards consists of 5 members who represent regional interests, the interests of co-operative and indigenous banks.

5.The Preamble of the Reserve Bank of India describes the basic functions of the Reserve Bank as:"to regulate the issue of Bank notes and keeping of reserves with a view to securing monetary stability in India and generally to operate the currency and credit system of the country to its advantage; to have a modern monetary policy framework to meet the challenge of an increasingly complex economy, to maintain price stability while keeping in mind the objective of growth."

6.Dr. Jitendra Singh, the Union Minister of State of the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region, launched the social media of “Namaste Shalom”, a magazine on India-Israel relations.The magazine is edited by former MP Tarun Vijay.

7.Shigmotsav has been organized enthusiastically in Goa. Shigmotsav or Shigmo is one of the several cultural festivals of the coastal state and is celebrated through colours, costumes, music, dance and parades. Shigmo parades offer glimpses of Goan life depicted through folk dance and music performances by locals.

8.Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah unveiled ‘Arogya Karnataka’ aimed at benefitting about 1.43 crore households in the state.Through the scheme, all the BPL households will get free treatment at government hospitals while for APL households, the state will bear about 30% of the treatment cost.

9.The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) imposed a monetary penalty of Rs.20 million on Indian Overseas Bank for non-compliance with the directions issued by the former regarding Know Your Customer (KYC) norms.

10.Germany’s Angela Merkel secured her fourth term as the Chancellor after the Social Democratic party voted in favour of a grand coalition with Merkel’s Christian Democratic Union.
