1.President Ram Nath Kovind hosted an‘LPG Panchayat at Rashtrapati Bhavan. It was organized by the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjawala Yojana (PMUY). The LPG Panchayat aims to provide a platform for LPG consumers to interact with each other, promote mutual learning and share experiences. LPG Panchayat serves as an interactive platform for those who received LPG cylinders under MUY. One panchayat has around 100 LPG customers in nearby areas. The panchayats discuss issues such as safe practices, quality of service provided by distributors and availability of refill cylinders.

3.The World Bank has said that India needs to create more regular, salaried jobs with growing earnings.It should not focus on self-employment to become a middle-income country by 2047.It said that salaried jobs are a “rare privilege” in India today where less than 20% of workers are in salaried employment. India is currently classified as a lower middle-income country.

Despite advisory that none of the bank branches should refuse to accept small denomination notes or coins tendered at their counters, complaints keep coming about non-acceptance of coins by bank branches, RBI said.
Denial to accept coins, either for exchange or deposit, leads to refusal on the part of the shopkeepers and small traders which causes inconvenience to the public at large.The regulator has also advised banks, preferably to accept coins, particularly, in Re 1 and Rs 2 denominations by weighment.

5.India’s Aadhaar and Umang App have won awards at recently concluded 6th World Government Summit 2018 in Dubai. Umang App won in Best m-Government Service. Umang App won in Best m-Government Service Award for Accessible Government Category and Aadhaar won in the Best Government Emerging Technologies Award. The award for it recognized India’s efforts of invention and innovation in the field of technology and making the country completely digitalized.

7.Punjab National Bank’s market capitalisation fell by more than ₹3,800 crore after the bank detected fraudulent transactions worth over ₹11,300 crore at a Mumbai branch.The bank is currently valued at ₹35,365 crore after its shares fell nearly 10%.The CBI is investigating billionaire jeweller Nirav Modi and his firms in relation to the fraud transactions.
8.The West Bengal government already enrolled 50 lakh people under its own Swasthya Sathi programme, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has announced the decision to opt out of Centre’s ‘Modicare’ scheme. This makes West Bengal the first state to withdraw from the ambitious programme. Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley had announced the NHPS on February 1, making it the biggest global plan to provide quality health coverage to a population larger than the combined citizenry of the US, UK, Germany, and France.
9.Tamil Nadu won the Senior Women's National Football Championship for the first time. Tamil Nadu, which was playing its first-ever final, defeated Manipur, 2-1 at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack, Odisha. Skipper Indumathi and Indrani found the net for Tamil Nadu, while Ratanbala scored Manipur's only goal.
10.Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched several projects in Arunachal Pradesh. He inaugurated the Dorjee Khandu state convention center at a function in Itanagar. The Centre has an auditorium, conference halls, and an exhibition hall. Prime Minister's focus was also on the information revolution and now, the newly erected Secretariat building in the state capital is a big step in that direction. The building will have digital technology at its core and will have 2,500 officers and other employees.
