1.In order to achieve full and equal access to and participation in science for women and girls, and further achieve gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls, the UN declared 11 February as the International Day of Women & Girls in Science.UN decided to establish the day on 22 December 2015.
2.World Unani Day is celebrated on 11th of February each year, to mark the birth anniversary of great Unani scholar and social reformer Hakim Ajmal Khan. He was an eminent Indian Unani physician & founder of scientific research in Unani System of Medicine.He was one of the founders of Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi.
3.The RBI has said that the special lending window with Cash Reserve Ratio exemption will be open from 14th of February for six months ending 31st of July, and incremental loans disbursed under this facility will have CRR exemption for the next five years.Net Demand & Time Liabilities is calculated as of 31 January.

5.Dame Karen Pierce, the UK's permanent representative to the UN, has been appointed Britain’s ambassador to US, becoming the first woman to hold the position – the most prominent in the diplomatic service. She replaced Kim Darroch who resigned forcefully.She earlier served as the UK’s ambassador to Afghanistan.
6.The highest incidence of children & women being trafficked were observed from the cities of Mumbai & Kolkata, according to the National Crime Records Bureau study. The data on missing children and women was compiled on the directions of the Supreme Court.West Bengal was 2nd both in number of missing children & women.
7.A major initiative by the Gehlot Government to connect the transgender community with the mainstream society has been undertaken. Now, separate identity cards will be issued for transgenders in the state to get the benefit of government jobs & schemes.The number of transgenders in the state is more than one lakh.
8.CM Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy launched the first Disha Police Station of the state at Rajamahendravaram, Andhra Pradesh. Government plans to set up a total of 18 such police stations across the state to exclusively deal with crimes against women and children.These will be upgraded versions of women's police stations.
9.Directorate General of Training, Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship proposes to issue digital e-Credentials/e-Certificates which are freely portable for candidates but continue to allow print and other visual forms for human consumption.e-Credentials: Describes credentials in machine-readable format.
10.In a bid to bring reforms in the agriculture sector, AP signed MoUs with 11 reputed institutes in the country as knowledge partners in the presence of CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. Objective of the MoUs is to impart technology & knowledge transfer to farmers.Farmers will be trained in organic and natural farming.
11.The Centre has decided to rename the National Institute of Financial Management, Faridabad, as ‘Arun Jaitley National Institute of Financial Management’ (AJNIFM). NIFM, Faridabad was set up in 1993 as a registered society under the Ministry of Finance.Union Finance Minister is the President of the NIFM society.
12.Housing & Urban Affairs Ministry has paired up 20 best performing cities with the 20 bottom cities & they will work as sister cities. Ahmedabad, Nagpur, Tiruppur ranked 1st,2nd & 3rd respectively as the best performing cities, as per the internal rankings.Varanasi is paired up with another holy city Amritsar.
13.In Madhya Pradesh, a National Water Conference is going to be held in the capital Bhopal to solve water crisis and make the state a water-rich state. There was plenty of water in the state before due to rivers like Narmada, Chambal, Son, Betwa and Sindh.Due to the decline in groundwater water crisis has arisen.
14.India's chief national badminton coach Pullela Gopichand has been given an honourable mention by the International Olympic Committee at the 2019 Coaches Lifetime Achievement Awards. He received the honourable mention for the male category of the awards.The IOC Coaches Lifetime Achievement Award was created in 2017.
15.European champion Armand Duplantis set a pole vault world record at a World Athletics Indoor Tour meeting in Poland. The USA-born Swede, 20, cleared 6.17m at the second attempt in Torun, Poland, to beat Olympian Frenchman Renaud Lavillenie's previous mark.Holly Bradshaw won the women's competition with 4.63m height.
16.Ace cuiest Aditya Mehta defeated multiple-time world champion Pankaj Advani 6-2 to win the National Snooker Championship in Pune. Mehta represented the Petroleum Sports Promotion Board. In the women's snooker finals Vidya Pillai edged out Amee Kamani.Mehta won the first frame with a break score of 103.
