1.Best picture went to 1917, while RenĂ©e Zellweger won best actress for Judy, and Joaquin Phoenix beat out Adam Driver and Christian Bale to win best actor for Joker. Best Motion Picture went to Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.2020 marked 77th edition of Golden Globe Awards.

2.Indian Space Research Organisation has proposed a ₹ 2,700-crore master plan to create top infrastructure that will house its young Human Space Flight Centre at Challakere, a town on the Bengaluru-Pune NH4 in Chitradurga district of Karnataka.4 IAF male pilots have been selected for Gaganyaan mission.

3.Indian Railways has recently unveiled Him Darshan Express, a special train comprising all-new Vistadome coaches which runs between Kalka railway station to Shimla. It is the 1st train with Vistadome to run on a regular basis.Integral Coach Factory is in Perambur, Chennai, Tamil Nadu.

4.National Stock Exchange of India Ltd has formally approached SEBI for an initial public offering of its shares. NSE aims to raise about ₹10,000 crore from IPO, which would result in existing promoters selling 22-24% of their stakes.NSE estd. in 1992 was the 1st dematerialized electronic exchange.

5.UCO Bank announced that it has recovered ₹800-900 crore from 4 large stressed accounts in the December quarter under the bankruptcy law and is extending credit linkage to 10,000 Self Help Groups & opening 2 urban Bank Mitra centres in Kolkata.UCO Bank is a PSB headquartered in Kolkata.

6.IHS Markit India Services Business Activity Index improved from 52.7 in Nov to 53.3 in Dec & Composite PMI Output Index that maps both the manufacturing & services sector, rose from 52.7 in Nov to 53.7, reflecting stronger rates of expansion in both sector.Purchasing Managers' Index shows direction of economic trends.

7.3rd batch of ''Sukanya'' initiative was started at 100 city-based schools & colleges situated in Kolkata Police jurisdiction. This initiative of Kolkata Police provides self-defence training to girl students of city-based schools, colleges and universities.It is funded by Women & Child Development of the state.

8.World No.1, Youth Olympics champion & Asian Games gold medallist, 17-year-old Saurabh Chaudhary won the men’s gold in 10-metre air pistol in the 63rd National shooting championship. Sharvan Kumar clinched the youth gold in the tournament.13-year-old Shiva Narwal won the sub-youth gold.
