1.Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty became the first Indian pair to win a BWF Super 500 badminton tournament. They beat World champions Li Jun Hui and Liu Yu Chen of China in the summit clash of Thailand Open at Bangkok.

2.Federal Bank has launched a digital facility for instant online opening of Demat accounts for its customers. The bank customers can open Demat accounts in the matter of a minute by logging into the Internet banking portal FedNet.Shyam Srinivasan - MD & CEO of Federal Bank.

3.RBI barred non-banking finance companies from charging prepayment penalties or foreclosure charges from individual borrowers for purposes other than business. Foreclosure charges are part of the fee income for any lender and adds to its bottom line.In 2014, the RBI had barred commercial banks from charging loan.

4.John Flint, the Chief Executive Officer of HSBC Holdings Plc was stepping down recently. He will be replaced on an interim basis by Noel Quinn, head of global commercial banking. He joined HSBC in 1989 and took over as CEO in February 2018.HSBC Holdings Plc is headquartered in London.

5.ISRO laid the foundation stone for a centre to monitor & protect high-value space assets from space. It would facilitate the activities foreseen for Space Situational Awareness & Management to increase debris population & operational space assets.The centre will be built in Bengaluru.

6.Vinesh Phogat has bagged gold in women's 53kg category of the Poland Open wrestling tournament in Warsaw. She defeated Roksana in the final of the competition. It was her third consecutive gold in the same category.She won the Gold medal at Grand Prix of Spain.

7.India test-fired its all-weather tracked-chassis Quick Reaction Surface-to-Air Missile (QR-SAM) from a mobile launcher at launch complex III of the Integrated Test Range at Chandipur in Odisha. It was the second developmental trial of the missile.QR-SAM is a quick reaction, network-centric missile system.

8.The Statue of Unity in Gujarat has been shortlisted for 'The Structural Awards 2019' of the UK-based Institution of Structural Engineers (IStructE). It is among the 49 structures that will vie for the prestigious award.The statue was designed by architect Ram Suthar & built by L&T.

9.Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) has passed Max Verstappen (Red Bull) to win the Hungarian Grand Prix. It is Hamilton’s 81st career win is also his seventh at the Hungarian GP. Sebastian Vettel (Ferrari) took third place followed by Charles Leclerc (Ferrari).Valtteri Bottas was secured eighth place in the race.

10.Veteran Gujarati journalist and columnist Kanti Bhatt died in Mumbai at the age of 88. He was the founding editor of o Gujarati magazines, Abhiyan, which he launched with his wife Sheela, also a veteran journalist and member of the Editors Guild of India.He started his career as a financial journalist in Mumbai.
