1.PV Sindhu became the 1st Indian to win badminton World Championships gold by beating Nozomi Okuhara of Japan in Basel. It was Sindhu's 5th World Championships medal. She won a silver in 2016 Rio Olympic Games, a silver at Gold Coast Commonwealth GamesBAI announced a cash reward of ₹ 20 lakh for PV Sindhu.

9.Suzuki Ecstar rider Alex Rins has won the British Grand Prix by defeating the world champion Marc Marquez (Honda rider). He won the race for the first time since 2014. Maverick Vinales took the third position followed by Valentino Rossi.Rins pipped Marquez by a margin of 0.013 seconds.
