1.A government panel has recommended cutting the corporate tax rate to 25% from 30% for all companies & scrapping surcharges on tax payments. India has one of the highest corporate tax rates in the world with annual sales of up to Rs 400 crore.The government panel was headed by Akhilesh Ranjan.
2.PSBs are gearing up to introduce retail products, including housing and auto loans, on 'psbloansin59minutes' portal with a view to expand their retail loan business. Currently, the portal gives loans up to ₹ 1 Cr to MSMEs in just 59 mins/less than 1 hr.SBI decided to extend the loan up to ₹ 5 Cr via the portal.

8.An Indian para-swimming team comprising Gwalior resident Satendra Singh crossed the Catalina Channel in the US. Satendra Singh has become the first Asian swimmer to have crossed both English and Catalina channel.He was conferred with Vikram award in 2014.
9.Former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister and senior BJP leader, Babulal Gaur passed away in Bhopal. He was 89. He served as Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister between 2004 and 2005 and represented Govindpura Assembly seat for 10 times.Present CM of Madhya Pradesh – Kamal Nath.
10.Researchers at IIT Hyderabad are collaborating with research institutions across the world to develop a device to detect heart diseases with high speed, sensitivity and reliability. The device can also be extended to the detection of other diseases.IIT-H has developed low-cost solar cells using 'kumkum dye’.
