1.FDI into India increased by 6% to $42 billion in 2018 with strong inflows in manufacturing, communication, financial services & cross-border merger & acquisition activities making it the sub-region’s largest recipient.UNCTAD:United Nations Conference on Trade and Development.

2.Top auditors Deloitte Haskin and Sells, and BSR and Co. could find themselves shut out of work for five years after the government asked the NCLT to bar them for alleged lapses in auditing the books of IL&FS Financial Services Ltd (IFIN).National Company Law Tribunal(NCLT) President: Justice M M Kumar.

3.RBI asked banks to ensure their ATMs are grouted to a wall, pillar, or floor by September-end, except those installed in high secured premises to enhance their security.Moreover, ATMs shall be operated for cash replenishment only with digital OTC locks.ATM:Automated Teller Machine.

4.Microsoft will launch AI digital labs in India in collaboration with 10 higher educational institutions, including BITS Pilani & ISB. As part of the 3-year programme, Microsoft will support the select institutions with infrastructure, curriculum & content.Microsoft CEO:Satya Nadella.

5.UNICEF will honour Indian actress Priyanka Chopra with the Danny Kaye Humanitarian Award at the UNICEF Snowflake Ball.The event will be held in New York.Priyanka is a global Unicef Goodwill Ambassador for Child Rights.UNICEF Executive Director: Anthony Lake.

6.Bhola Nath Shukla was appointed Chairman-cum-Managing Director of Mahanadi Coalfields Ltd, according to a Personnel Ministry order.Shukla is at present the Director (Technical) of Central Mine Planning and Design Institute Limited.He has been appointed as CMD upto October 31, 2020.

7.Export Import Bank of India (Exim Bank) will provide line of credit worth USD 245 million to Ghana and Mozambique for agricultural and railway projects.Exim Bank supported line of credit of USD 150 million to Ghana and USD 95 million to Mozambique.EXIM bank Headquarters:Mumbai.

8.In Slovakia, anti-corruption campaigner Zuzana Caputova was sworn in as country's first female president.In her inauguration speech, she pledged to make the justice system work for everyone.She has been nicknamed, "Slovakia's Erin Brockovich".Capital of Slovakia:Bratislava.

9.Dr. Rabi N. Mishra has been elevated as executive director in the RBI.Earlier, he was the principal chief general manager. His portfolio now includes non-banking and Co-op bank supervision as well as the College of Supervisors.RBI Headquarters:Mumbai.
