4.IT major TCS will implement RBI's centralised information and management system (CIMS) for seamless data collection and validations at a cost of ₹310.52 crore. The project has to be completed within a year of the commencement of the contract with the RBI.Governor of RBI:Shaktikanta Das.

5.Noted English writer Amitav Ghosh was conferred the 54th Jnanpith award for 2018. It was given for his outstanding contribution in English. Mr Ghosh is the first English writer to get this award. The works of Amitav Ghosh cover a vast range of subjects.He won the Sahitya Akademi Award in 1988 for,The Shadow Lines.
