1.The government of India has increased the sports budget by over Rs 214 crore for the next financial year, including a hike in funds for the Sports Authority of India (SAI) and incentives for sportspersons.Sports Authority is under Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.

2.Indian Space Research Organisation will launch its latest communication satellite on board European launch services provider Arianespace's launch vehicle from French Guiana. It derives its heritage from ISROs earlier INSAT/GSAT satellite series.ISRO Chairman: K Sivan.

3.Researchers from Columbia University in the United States developed AI-based system capable to help people who cannot speak regain their ability to communicate with the outside world by reconstructing the words a person hears.IIT-Hyderabad launched 1st AI based course.

4.The 37th edition of 'ICT Academy Bridge 2019' conference held in Chennai. It is the largest Industry-Institute Interaction Event in Asia. The event was themed ‘Fostering India for Industry 4.0’. ICT Academy is endorsed and recommended by NITI Aayog.TN Chief minister: Edappadi K. Palaniswami.

5.State Board of Wildlife chaired by CM Amarinder Singh, took the decision to declare Indus river dolphin declared as Punjab’s state aquatic animal. It is the second most endangered river dolphin species.Punjab Capital- Chandigarh, Governor: V.P. Singh Badnore.

6.Indian squash player Ramit Tandon defeated Egyptian Mohamed El Sherbini in the finals of Seattle Open to win the title, which was a PSA challenger squash Tour event. He rose to his career high ranking of 58.Squash: Racket sport played by 2 singles in 4-walled court.

7.World Cancer Day is marked on 4th February to increase awareness of cancer, and to encourage its prevention, early detection and treatment. The theme for World Cancer Day 2019 is 'I am and I will'.The estimated number of deaths due to cancer in 2018 was 9.5 mn.

8.Qatar pulled a stunning 3-1 win over four-time champions Japan on their way to the first continental title in Asian Cup 2019. Almoez Ali of Qatar came out as top scorer.United Arab Emirates hosted AFC 2019.

9.Yes Bank senior group president and head of retail and business banking Pralay Mondal has resigned. He will serve till March 31, 2019. He had joined Yes Bank in 2012 and elevated to the post of Executive Directors in September 2018.Experience our Expertise is the tagline of YES Bank.

10.Union Minister KJ Alphons stated that India’s tourism sector fetched USD 234 billion revenue in 2018, registering a growth of over 19%. India is ranked third in the tourism sector, according to the 2018 report of the World Travel and Tourism Council.Revenue was contributed by 87% domestic & 13% foreign tourist.
