1.Odisha launched the ‘Ama Ghare LED’ scheme, under which about 95 L families in the State will each get 4 LED bulbs free of cost. 9-watt LED bulbs will be distributed to beneficiaries registered under National Food Security Act & State Food Security Scheme.Naveen Patnaik is the Chief Minister of Odisha.

6.Shri Jaswantsinh Bhabhor, MoS for Tribal Affairs inaugurated the “1st Ekalavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS) Sports Meet 2019” at Gachibowli stadium in Hyderabad yesterday. The National Sports Meet is being held from 14th to 16th January 2019.EMRS scheme is implemented by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs.

9.District administration has initiated measures to start kindergarten classes in Anganwadis, including Nagapattinam Municipality, Keezhaiyur Union, Thalaignayiru Union etc. among others to begin admissions for LKG & UKG classes in 29 Anganwadis attached.Anganwadis were started by the Indian government in 1975.
10.In a bid to cut cost of satellite launchers, ISRO is working on reusable launch technology for using the first & second stages of a rocket multiple times. Advanced version of the reusable launch technology (RLV) test will be conducted in June-July.ISRO chairman -K Sivan
