ONE LINER OF THE DAY 25th March 2018.


1.Minister of Commerce & Industry and Civil Aviation, Suresh Prabhu chaired a roundtable of Invest India in New Delhi.Various regulatory issues faced by Startups in the sectors of e-pharmacy, NBFCs, unmanned aerial vehicle and retail delivery of petroleum from door to door were discussed with the concerned Ministries and departments of the Government of India in the presence of the Minister.Following issues like presence of pharmacist at e-pharmacy platforms, stream lining of the application process for NBFCs by RBI, reforms in current guidelines for UAV sector, which doesn’t allow for manufacturing of drones, and vehicle specifications for door to door retail delivery of petroleum, were discussed at length.

2.The Orang National Park  also known as (Rajiv Gandhi orang national park) located on the north bank of the Brahmaputra River in the Darrang and Sonitpur districts of Assam.

3.The Minister of State for Home Affairs, Shri Hansraj Gangaram Ahir said that Narco-terrorism and its funding is a serious problem for the world, especially for India.Inaugurating the two-day first National Conference on Drug Law Enforcement in New Delhi, he said the challenge for law enforcement agencies and the society is to prevent drug abuse among youth.

4.Olympic silver-medalist PV Sindhu will be the flag-bearer of Indian contingent for the opening ceremony of the Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia.It would be the first time in last 3 editions of Commonwealth Games that a badminton player would don the flag-bearer’s hat.

5.ISRO has entered into a Technology Transfer Agreement (TTA) with Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), which is one of the country’s leading PSUs, to transfer the technology for the manufacture of space grade Li-Ion cells.The TTA was signed at ISRO Headquarters, Bengaluru in the presence of Dr. K. Sivan, Chairman, ISRO and Mr. Atul Sobti, Chairman & Managing Director, BHEL.

6.The total amount involved in bank fraud cases this year has reached nearly ₹19,194 crore, which is 63% more than the total loss on all frauds in 2017.The CBI has registered 12 major cases of suspected bank fraud this year.The amount involved in 31 bank fraud cases registered by the investigating agency in 2017 stood at ₹11,777 crore.

7.President Donald Trump has appointed Bush-era defence hawk and former United Nations ambassador, John Bolton as US National Security Adviser.

8.Nargu Wildlife Sanctuary lies across the Uhl River in Mandi District of Himachal Pradesh.

9.Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh presented the G.K. Reddy Memorial National Award for journalism to senior journalist and television presenter Karan Thapar.

10.Shooter Manu Bhaker secured India's second individual gold after prevailing over Thailand's Kanyakorn Hirunphoem in a thrilling final of the women's 10m air pistol event at the ISSF Junior World Cup in Sydney, Australia.
