1.National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG) has approved five projects worth Rs. 295.01 crore. Three projects pertain to sewage management in West Bengal at an estimated cost of Rs 278.6 crore, one relates to sewage management in Uttarakhand at an estimated cost of Rs 4.68 crore and one project worth Rs 11.73 crore is related to ghat improvement works in Varanasi.

3.The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Friday unveiled banknotes of Rs 10 denomination under the Mahatma Gandhi (New) Series. Base colour of the note is chocolate brown.The new 63 mm x 123 mm notes are embossed with the signature of RBI Governor Dr Urjit Patel and have the motif of the Sun Temple, Konark on the reverse, depicting the country’s cultural heritage.
4.New Delhi World Book Fair (NDWBF) held for the past 45 years, is now a major calendar event in the publishing world. NDWBF 2018 will be held from 6 to 14 January 2018 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.The Fair is organized by National Book Trust, India, an autonomous organization under the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, working towards promotion of books and the habit of reading in the country.THEME :Environment and Climate Change.
