1.Liquidity adjustment facilities are used to aid banks in resolving any short-term cash shortages during periods of economic instability or from any other form of stress caused by forces beyond their control. Various banks will use eligible securities as collateral through a repo agreement and will use the funds to alleviate their short-term requirements, thus remaining stable.

2.In a significant decision after taking over as Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister, Jai Ram Thakur  announced setting up of a 24×7  helpline, called Gudiya, for women.Thakur, who was at Press Club Shimla, said three special crime cells would be set up, one each at Mandi, Shimla and Kangra, as part of this initiative. Officers of these cells will be entrusted with the task to report cases of crime against women without any delay.

3.India’s High Commissioner to Kuala Lumpur T S Tirumurti has been appointed as the Secretary (Economic Relations) in the External Affairs Ministry by the government.

4.Rajaji National Park is an Indian national park and tiger reserve that encompasses the Shivaliks, near the foothills of the Himalayas. The park is spread over 820 km, and three districts of Uttarakhand: Haridwar, Dehradun and Pauri Garhwal.

5.Telangana government has inaugurated country’s first National Park for people with special needs in Hyderabad. The park has speech therapist, physiotherapist, vocational training instructors for the differently-abled children. The park will benefit those differently-abled children, who want to move forward and thrive in life.

6.The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is planning to start printing fresh Rs 100 currency notes around April 2018, according to a leading news daily.The existing Rs 100 notes will continue to be legal tender and will be withdrawn gradually.The Rs 100 note, which is one of the most common denominations in the country, will reportedly retain its size and dimensions to ensure compatibility with automatic-teller machines (ATMs).

7.New campaign to change behaviour of men defecating in open – Darwaja Band (May 2017). Bollywood star Amitabh Bachchan will launch the campaign from Mumbai to promote use of toilets. 

8.Gir Forest National Park and Wildlife Sanctuary (also known as Sasan-Gir) is a forest and wildlife sanctuary near Talala Gir in Gujarat, India. Established in 1965.
