6.The Reserve Bank of India has imposed a monetary penalty of Rs 2 crore on Kotak Mahindra Bank for non-compliance of directions. This action was taken under sections 27(2) and 35A of the Banking Regulation Act, 1949.HQ of Kotak Mahindra Bank – Mumbai.
7.RBI stated that the lenders must resolve non-performing assets (NPA) over Rs 2,000 crore within 180 days. Also, stated that in case of a default by a borrower, lenders must undertake a prima facie review of the borrower account within 30 days.NPA – Principal/interest payment remained overdue for 90 days.

9.The Jammu and Kashmir government removed J&K Bank Chairman Parvez Ahmad and appointed its executive president R K Chibber as an interim chairman. Ahmad was appointed in 2016 as the chairman of the bank.J&K Bank was incorporated on October 1, 1938.
10.According to RBI's new data, country's foreign exchange reserves increased by USD 1.875 billion to USD 421.867 billion in the week ending May 31, in which foreign currency assets, being a major component of the overall reserves.Foreign Currency assests stands at USD 394.1 bn
